Contemporary Composer & Sound Artist
About
I am a composer currently studying composition at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow.
My work brings together contemporary sound, intercultural influences, and a strong sensitivity to musical storytelling.
Musical Language
I work across a wide range of styles and instrumental settings, with a particular interest in intercultural dialogue and the integration of folk elements.
I often draw on Ukrainian folk songs and melodies, alongside material from other cultures, as a foundation for developing my own musical language.
Identity, Memory, Place
For me, composition is a way of exploring identity, memory, and a sense of connection to place.
By embedding folk material within contemporary contexts, I aim to preserve a sense of home while reimagining it, opening new spaces for expression.
Collaboration & Practice
I am also interested in audiovisual work and the relationship between sound and image.
During my studies, I have collaborated with ensembles and performers including Marian Consort, Red Note Ensemble, Nordic Viola, and departments at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Alongside my compositional work, I have experience teaching music, accompanying a youth choir in Glasgow, and working as an organist.
In parallel with my creative practice, I teach piano and actively organise charity concerts in solidarity with Ukraine, using music as a means of cultural connection and support.

Love Remains
for piano, pre-recorded audio, and electronics
Love Remains is a composition for piano, pre-recorded audio, and electronics, created for the PLUG Festival at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
The piece incorporates an archival recording of my great-grandmother, recounting how she met my grandfather. This personal narrative becomes the emotional core of the work.
Her voice is treated as a musical instrument, while the piano part remains intentionally minimal, allowing the intimacy of the story to emerge.
Through this piece, I explore memory, inheritance, and emotional continuity — how personal histories resonate across generations through sound.
Schlaflos
for 8 voices Text by Danylo Diachenko
Schlaflos is a vocal work for eight voices based on a Ukrainian text by Danylo Diachenko, developed in collaboration with Marian Consort.
The piece explores the expressive and textural possibilities of the human voice, focusing on the relationship between language, sound, and collective presence.
Drawing on the musicality of the Ukrainian language, I work with subtle shifts in timbre, density, and resonance.
Layered vocal textures create an evolving sonic environment, reflecting tension, anticipation, and the delicate balance between stillness and motion.
Black on White
for flute, clarinet, viola, and cello
Black on White is a collaborative project with the Stirling University Art Collection, inspired by Score 4 (2022) by Jennifer Wicks.
The work explores the translation of visual art into sound through graphic notation.
Shapes and textures from the artwork are interpreted musically, forming a dialogue between image and sound.
Performed by Nordic Viola, the piece creates an immersive experience that bridges visual art and live performance.
Not That Mad
for saxophones and brass ensemble
This work explores the liminal space between sleep and wakefulness — where imagination and memory begin to blur.
The piece unfolds in three stages:
Emergence — fragile sounds forming from silence
Intensity — growing energy and tension
Fading — dissolution into fragmented echoes
Through surreal textures and shifting forms, the piece translates dream-like states into sound.
Homesick
for two violins
Homesick reflects on nostalgia and the emotional distance from something once familiar.
Inspired by Ukrainian musical traditions, the material is not quoted directly but transformed through memory.
The two violins form a dialogue — between past and present, loss and transformation.
Their interaction creates a fragile and evolving emotional landscape.
Suite à la Baroque
for 2 accordions, viola and cello
This work reinterprets Baroque dance forms through a contemporary musical language.
Instead of historical imitation, I explore the logic of Baroque structures within a modern sound world.
The unusual instrumentation allows for new timbral possibilities, reshaping familiar forms into something fluid and current.
Written for the PLUG Festival at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
Three Dances
for piano
A cycle of three pieces — Waltz, Foxtrot, and Tango — exploring rhythm, gesture, and character.
Each dance focuses on a distinct musical idea:
flowing lyricism, syncopation, and dramatic contrast.
Developed in collaboration with pianist Anna-Mariia Hryhoriak, the work reflects a practical and performer-focused approach to composition.
Women Behind Me
for chamber orchestra
A set of five miniatures exploring generational memory and identity.
Each piece reflects a different woman across four generations of my family, forming intimate emotional portraits.
The final piece brings these voices together, exploring continuity and connection across time.
This work examines how personal history shapes identity in subtle and lasting ways.
